I got EMC 8 for my birthday. I've been waiting a year for this soft ware. My DL burner came with Nero 6 and I never got it to burn one disk. I fooled it into making an ISO image once but the final product was so jerky you could not believe it.
My video card is a GForce 9250 and the sound card is probably not too good. Would that have any effect on the encoding. I actually burned the same movie to 2 4.7GB disks before with Roxio 6 and they work pretty well. So, I don't think the problem is my capture.
Please someone tell me you have some Ideas! Oh, the drivers should all be up to date. So, I don't believe that is the problem.
Come on you big burly brainy people. I have faith you can help me. I've gotten Zilch from Roxio. This program's a little too spendy to toss it and they won't give your money back. HELP!
Thanks!

Big Burly Brainy people are not necessarily mind readers also. Please explain what you are doing. It sounds like you have a video file on your computer that you would like to burn to a DVD and have had no or limited success. What is the source of that file? What format is it in (mpg2, mpg1, wmv etc)? What functions in EMC 8 are you using? Can you open that file in VideoWave? Does it play OK in Windows Media Player? Are you doing any editing to the file?
That's just the start of the questions I have. If you can post the answers and perhaps any additional information, it can speed up finding a solution. Also please post your computer profile in your signature by clicking on My Controls at the top of the boards and then selecting edit my signature on the lower left. That will add the information to your signature so that whenever you post again, it will be automatically available. Does you computer meet the minimum requirements for the program? Are you running XP SP2 or other. Do you have the latest version of DirectX 9c ?

Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
