Having really liked SonicRecordNow I decided to upgrade. Yesterday I stared at the utilitarian and unappealing programme that opened in place of the bright and easy to navigate version I had before. I thought oh well - I'll get used to it. I tried to record a backup of the installation programme as they advised. I could not get past the request for a category for the data project I was trying to backup. I could not find any advice in the Help documentation re this. I embarked on the Ask RoxAnn item, which seems to be the worst Q & A programme ever devised. After trying to get an answer (to anything in the whole programme, eventually!) I found that the promised live support onscreen was not available. It never has been - in two days. Eventually, feeling fedup with the product, and having discovered the horrible and tiny range of DVD and CD inserts on offer, I began to try to find out how to get a refund. All I want to do now is uninstall the product and go back to using the previous version which at least worked and was understandable - and looked better too! But Roxio are definitely NOT into letting go even of the modest amount they managed to get from me for this rubbish download. All attempts to access Customer Services - "How do I get a refund" are carefully blocked and you keep ending up with the lamebrained RoxAnn programme.

Oh well. My credit card company are even now awaiting my printouts of the emails and stupid answers I received from Roxio in order to begin the process of forcing the makers of an inadequate product to reimburse the money! I have been deluged with silly replies from the RoxAnn joke department and have now sent an email notifying them that all their correspondence is now being marked as Spam - most appropriate. Perhaps I have been lucky up till now? I have never had an experience so disappointing, irritating, and downright contemptuous of my rights as a consumer in all my years online. I can only get into the website by sending off the "Forgotten my password" message three times and giving them my same old password (which I NEVER forget) over and over again as the "new" one.. They can't even get the website login right - what does that tell you?

Goodbye Roxio! I will make sure to spread the news far and wide on the Web and off it - to help others avoid the costly mistake of purchasing one of your products.

 :D :) :D :D

Actually if you read that Bruce, not only did he post to a users' forum but he posted about Record Now and not EMC (and didn't even tell us WHAT his problem actually was :)

I know, Daithi, but I didn't want to say that most on these forums would have no idea about Record Now, because most would not even use it.

I think the poster's goal was to express dissatisfaction with his experience with Roxio and announce it to all who view his post. :)

I think you are correct which means it is time for this barnacle to be scrapped off!
