Hi,
I am using Disc copier to copy .avi movies to make a DVD movie so that I can playback on DVD player..
Now yesterday.. DVD copier took 6 hours doing something and was stuck when i wake up in the morning. Can't tell what happened.. didnt' get any error messages... except for when i rebooted next time.. Roxio starups had runtime error.. lets forget about it..

Now, another thing is .. I have Intel Dual core 1.66 with 1GB RAM and x1400 256MB graphics card. Disc Copier is never eating 100% of my CPU. Its always less than 56%...
Its already taking so much time to convert 2 movies to a DVD (not its fault.. I know its a time consuming thing) and still not using my system resources!! BUT it makes my system slow kind of hogging smth.. since windows take longer to open after I increase its priority though its using <60% of CPU.

I guess its just running on one core of my CPU.. although I have set its priority as realtime, etc .. but no use..

Thanks in advance.

My sys info..

Dont' be fooled by the Duo core Hype. It doesn't really mean that everything will run twice as fast. Most applications aren't even optimized for hyperthreading much less for dual core processors.

What type of AVI? There are many favors. If those are DivX or Xvid files, those are highly compressed which will need to be uncompressed and then recompressed using MPEG 2. Yes, this does take time.
