Tried that. They are of no help. They will not send the CD so I can reinstall.

Go to your local Best Buy, or another similar store, and pick up a copy of EMC 9. Before you do, make sure your system far exceeds the minimum requirements.

You can then dump the version that came with your Dell.

It was doing the job that I needed. Do I have to spend more money to capture video to burn? Is there a way to reinstall? a download?

"Do I have to spend more money"? ------ Yes, unless Dell will help you with installation disk

"is there a way to reinstall"? ------- Yes, (contact Dell)

"a downoad"? ------- (see above)

Take grandpabruce's idea in his earlier post, you will be further ahead in the long run.

Thanks Bruce for the help. Persistence pays off. After Dell tried everything to fix the problem they decided to send me the cds I need to install. If I find that this doesn't do the job I want then I will look into purchasing better software

I am glad that Dell is sending you the CD's, but it was Tony (Ogdens) who suggested contacting Dell. I hope it works for you. If not, go to Best Buy.
