When I call up the Label Maker app from within EMC9, an app called "Express Labeler" opens. It is a product from a company called "Sure Thing". The GUI has a button labeled "Upgrade". I followed the link and ended up purchasing the upgrade. The problem is that the "Upgrade" ends up being a stand-alone CD Label maker tool that can not be integrated into the EMC9 suite of apps. After installing the upgrade, selecting the Label Maker app still invokes Express Labeler and not the upgrade. To launch the Upgrade, I have to do so from outside EMC9. I think Roxio and Sure Thing should stipulate that purchasing the upgrade defeats the purpose and inherent advantage of an integrated suite of tools.

Why didn't you just use the included Label Creator? It's much more advanced than Label Express.
Launch HOME
In the left panel under Home, click APPLICATIONS
In the center panel, Click on Label Creator

As you explain, from the EMC9 Home, I can click on the Home tab on the left side list, Applications, and click on Label Creator, which launches a Sonic Solutions label maker. Thanks for this tip, I didn't know about this tool.
I can also click on Tools where I have 2 options, Laser Label Disk, which launches Express Labeler 3 from SureThing or Print Disk Label, which launches Express Labeler with an untitled project. Are these just different views of the same tool or 2 different tools?
It looks like there are 2, possibly 3, different label maker tools embedded in EMC9. Why is that? What are the inherent advantages/disadvantages of these tools compared to each other?

There are only 2 different ones that I know: Label Express from Surething and the Roxio Label Creator. Don't know if there are any advantages/disadvantages other than one is a cut down version. Sonic / Roxio are still in the process of merging their products together. The recording technology behind the Home app is mostly Sonic Record Now. All of the other apps were Roxio technology.
