Following on from a very good review I purchased a copy of Roxio 9 as the review said it runs under Vista!!

So pushing the boundaries I installed it on my 64bit Turion based machine running RC2 of Vista. Guess what it bombs and the nice message from Microsoft is that it should not should be fixed with the release version of Vista!

Ah well lets see if thats true!!!

:)

Some have had better luck than others with Vista beta and EMC9.  I'm holding out a while.  My tests on an x64 system were not worth any more time.  Since Vista will be released to manufacturers soon, I hopeful we'll see some changes shortly after.

From what I can tell the problem with Vista RC1 is actually the version of IE 7 that comes with that version.  I would be curious to see what happens if you test the final release of IE 7 in Vista RC 1.

Not that I am saying we fully support it, I am just throwing the idea out there...

Hi,

EMC9 programs open fine for me in RC2 (x86)... no more programs-not-opening for me as in RC1. I'm a bit confused regarding the opening post: Are you running RC1 (as said in the subject) or RC2 (as said in the message)?
BTW I very much doubt if there is going to be an IE7 update for Vista RC1/RC2... my guess is we'll have to wait for RTM.

Cheers,

Martin

I also purchased the EMC9 for my 64 bit RC1, and the program doesn't even start. I do believe MS says it will work in the release version, when I read it this week (Nov. 2006). Let's hope - it was an expensive program to put on my Windows 2K box, and not be able to use the Vista system.

I run it in Windows XP with no problems.  Vista is beta, but I can tell you, there is no way that all of the EMC 9 programs will run in anything 64 bit.  One of the those programs is BUMP.
