We are users like you, so are not sure.  I think the server is dead, though.

I glad that someone else is having the problem.  It worked fine for me but recently no.  A couple of thing to try though.  Make sure you have the site allowed in pop up windows, or for a short time, allow pop ups.  If you are going through a router, make sure that you have UPNP enabled.  Have you been able to use it before?
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

Yes, I have been able to use on a previous occassion but over the last couple of days it hasn't worked for me. I haven't tried the popup thing though so i will try that. As for the UpNP enabled router, I'm sure that is working as it should.

I'm having the same problem.  Liveshare was working fine for months, and now it is not.  It seems to me that the Roxio server must be down, as I can't think of anything else that I've changed.

I confirmed we have a bug with this function right now.  For now, if you feel comfortable editing your registry, here is a work around.
Note: if you mess your registry up, you could ruin your windows installation

The EMC-9.0 user has to replace a couple of his/her registry values data.

1.) Data of RendezvousServerURL value
From: http://liveshare.myp...ShareServer.dll
To: http://roxioliveshar...ShareServer.dll

2.) Data of OnlineNameRegUrl value
From: http://liveshare.myp...ShareServer.dll
To: http://roxioliveshar...ShareServer.dll

Note: Because of the way the forums handle URL addresses you have to click on the link and then copy and paste the address listed.

Hi John

thanks for the "work around" but it did not work.

I did exactly as you recommended but ran up against a couple of problems. First when you click on the link to copy and past it leaves out the :80. When i pasted in the appropriate places and tried without the :80 it did not work also it did not work with :80.  I also found a couple of other places where the from address was the same and changed them as well to the to address but that also did not work.

for anyone else wanting to try this you can use the regedit.exe command from run on the startup menu and then type in liveshare in the find command and hit f3 untill you find the above addresses.

i'm open to any other suggestions.

Confirmed that the fix did not work.  I was able to get to the "site" but the "page" could not be reached.  I did rebuild the live share page just in case.

Sorry this didn't change anything.  When I click on the link address to create a link the address is as you have created in the file you sent, however when i type in my name and click create i get a failed message.
I've tried several different names but get the same results - failed!!  i feel like i'm back in school. lol.

Just right click the link and save "target as".  Once it downloads, close that windows and right click on the download and select extract.  When that finishes, the unzip will offer to show the extracted files, select yes.  Then simply click on it.  It goes very fast so don't be fooled.  No need to create a new name; use the default.

I have confirmed that it does work.

My previous message was in reference to the manage my Liveshare window in which you click a link address button which gets you the create/link box where you type in a unique name which is then attached to the http address you gave us. The address in that box is as you sent it. Anyway I went through the process again and i still get a failed message. It will not create a link address . It just comes up failed.

Maybe i should just reinstall and see if that works.

I don't know if it makes any difference but my version is one I downloaded and paid for from your web page about 2 months ago.

What did you do to get it work?  I tried the fix, but it still gives me a failed message.  I did get a message asking to allow access first however.  I even disabled my virus protection with no change.

You downoaded it from Roxio's webpage.  Steve is a user like you, as am I.  Unless you see a Roxio logo by a person's name, they don't work for Roxio.

If you have a router, have you enabled the UPNP in that device?  Time to read the instructions.  Mine still works.

I've applied the patch and verified that it made the registry changes.  I also changed the links on my Web pages, but I still get a 404 error.  Is anyone else still having problems?

Thanks,
M.

We might be having a server issue right now. Just try again in a little bit.
