Hi,
  I am trying to copy two .AVI to make one DVD which can be played back on DVD player.
I chose to create menu for it and its has three phases and asks for disk location instead of directly witing to DVD. anyways..

After the first phase is done afte hours... its now stuck at phase 2 at 36%... doesnt' do anything and its happending for the third time.  I don't have any idea.. no error to report. Its just stuck that and isnt' consuming any CPU...

Anyone else tried to use disc copier this way? Three phases thing..

My avi file info is (both are same)

Width -> 608
Height -> 256

Duration -> 1:33:55
Bit Rate -> 133 kbps
Audio Format -> MPEG Layer-3

Frame rate -> 23 frames/sec
Data Rate -> 127kbps
Video Sample Size -> 24 bit
Video compression -> Divx YV12

I like this software so any help will be really appreciated.

First, you can only get about one hour of best quality video on a single layer disc.  If you are trying to put almost three hours on a disc, you won't like it.  Commercial discs are pressed so they cannot be compared. You can, however out those files to DivX and they will fit but they will only play on a DivX capable player.

Second, from the information you are providing there may be a better way. The following is my suggestion but it is not the only way of doing it.
Take one of the video into VideoWave and out put it to a mpg2 for DVD best quality.  Then output the file to mpg2 format by clicking on the icon that looks like a film reel.  Do this for both videos..  If the output function hangs, then the file is not VideoWave capable. You might try one of the free converters mentioned on the boards.
Close VideoWave and open MyDVD.  Select your menus and add those mpg2 files.  Since the files are already DVD format, they will not be re-rendered.  When you go to burn, they will show as a gray swirl with mpg2.  Once you have the menu setup as you want it, click burn and select create image (iso file).  Name it and select the location where you want it.  Once it is done, copy the iso file to your disc using disc copier.  It will ask if you want to fit the iso on a disc.  Copy it to a RW disc.  That way, if you don't like the resultant quality, you can wipe it.  If you do not like the quality, your only solution is to burn only one mpg2 to each disc.

Also if you are outside the US, make sure that you are using PAL and not NTSC in VideoWave and MyDVD.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
