Hi.....I just got this program yesterday and haven't really tried it yet. I did log in several times and every time i went to leave, my computer froze. My hourglass stayed no matter where i tried to click. Each time the only way i could get out was to manually shut the computer down.
Any help would be appreciated.

I don't understand. Are you talking about logging into this forum?  If you're having trouble starting EMC9 after an install, you'll have to post your computer specs as a start and what, if any, other similar software you have installed.

I have an HP Pavilion m7580n media center desk top.
My video card is Model: NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE
                        Driver: nv4_mini.sys
My capture is: Hauppauge WINTV PVR PCI  11
I'm running Windows XP service pack 2
I have 2GB of Memory(ram)

I am not yet too computer savy. I did not even try to run a project on this program yet. I did log in and went to the help section. When i try to exit, my cursor is an hourglass and i can't click on anything. The only way to exit is to push the off button and shut down. I tried this several times and it happened every time.

Thanks

Hi Gary.....Thanks for yhe help. Like i said before, i am kinda green at this.
I did not have Direct X, so i installed it alond with the October 2006 update. I am still having the same problem with Creator 9 after that. I am not sure if i have the latest driver. If you are talking about the video driver, then what i have is:
   Video Card:
            Model  NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE
            Driver  nv_4 mini.sys
            Wednesday May 31, 2006
                Supported

If this needs to be updated, please advise me how to do it. My PC was just purchaswed in July 2006, so i thought everything should be up to par.
Thanks for your help.
Bob

I saw all the drivers for media center in the link you gave me, but i don't know which ones to download for my problem......Thanks

Just click on the link that says 'Primary Download link'.  There is only one file for all of the nVidia cards.  This one is for Media Center PCs.

Thanks guys. I did like you said. I updated the Direct X and the driver but i still get trapped. I just went in and erased a DVD and then i had to shut the computer down to get out of that window. I uninstalled all my old DVD plus when i put Media 9 in. I still have Windows digital enhancement. Could it be that it has to be uninstalled also?

I am also having the same problem.  Somewhat of a video newbie. Tried to post my system stats in my sig.
I can get creator 9 to open, everything but MyDVD seems to work fine.  When I open mydvd and try to select my media files to add, then everything hangs up.
I basically bought the program so I can burn my tivo files to dvd.
any help would be great. I even uninstalled IE7.

Hi P.J.,
I am sorry, but i am in the dark about this program. Like you, i uninstalled all my Sonic programs. I haven't even tried to use Creator 9 for any projects yet. All i did was erase a Disc. No matter what i do, my problem so far is that i can't get back out of the program. I have to shut off my computer.
Sorry i can't help, but good luck finding a solution.

Do a search on the forum for TIVO.  There have been several other threads on the subject. Your problem is probably not the same as this thread.

----
Bob , also make sure that you have done all of the Microsoft updates.  If I'm not mistaken WinXP SP2 is required by EMC9 for some of the apps to run correctly.

I'm not trying to use TIVO, but Gary let me know that there are subjects in that general thread that might help me.

Gary.......Thanks forthe info. I learned alot more about using EMC 9 from the questions and answers in the TIVO thread. I now can exit EMC 9 if i go through START,then PROGRAMS and click on the particular program i want to use. If i go to HOME (main page), i can't exit without shutting down, so i go the other route.

I have the same problem.  Roxio support doesn't have a clue.  However, Quick DVD (DVD Express) works, but without the features of MyDVD 9.

I also just today installed EMC 9 and now my computer hangs and crashes contantly. This is the worse program I have ever installed. What is one supposed to do?

In YOUR case, start a new post and list some information. System specs, errors you are getting, etc...
You get extra points for providing details. :)
