I would be interested in Creator 9 if it was thoroughly tested and more reliable than Creator 8.
There are several bugs in Creator 8; the most serious ones cause the PC/laptop XP user interface to completely
freeze up so that even Cnt/Alt/Del doesn't work. Its very difficult to restore and reboot and I had to compeletly rebuild my laptop one time. This occurs about 25% of the time when I have MyDVD open. I have 1 Gb RAM and two 100Gb hard drives with about 50% occupancy and I don't think its overloaded.

I expect commercial software to be thoroughly tested!

Freeze ups of the type you are describing normally come when you are running the program in hardware rendering mode and your computer can only handle software rendering. Open Video Wave, click on tools then options and run the rendering test. The little dot should be near the word software. You can see if there are any updates to the video drivers at your laptop manufacturer's web site. I'm betting that any updates will help solve your problem. What brand and model is your laptop?

That's from experience with my old laptop. :)

I purchased my Compaq Presario V4000T Intel 760 (2.0 GHz) last year at this time (10/19/05).
I ran the WideoWave Software, and also the Hardware "Graphics ..." rendering tests
and they both finished (normally?) with no exceptions or message notifications,
displaying the same Applications Settiings screen that I started with.

I would appreciate any other suggestions?

My PC passes the hardware rendering test but it doesn't do well using it! I switched to software render and it works fine.

But frankly if you are having trouble with V8, I don't see how you could expect V9 to be different.

The software is thoroughly tested but there is something on your PC that is causing the conflict.
