Hi everyone. This is my very first post and I'm a newbie to video editing. I apologize if my questions have been asked before or if they sound too obvious.

I have decided to download all the family videos from my Sony DV camcorder to my computer so I can convert them to DVD (and reuse the tapes). I know how to capture the video but I'm not sure how or if I can crop them. For example, I have captured the entire 60 minute tape and there are scenes that I want to completely remove as I don't want to keep them. I cannot find any information on how to do this. I played with Adobe Premiere a little while ago and I was able to easily crop out as many sections of the video as I wanted. Can I do it with MyDVD? If not, am I forced to just capture only the segments from the tape that I want and then piece them together later?

If this has been discussed before or if there are some instructions somewhere, I would appreciate seeing the links. Thank you in advance.

You use VideoWave to do what you want to do. Read the Help files to start out with. Once you learn how to delete a portion, it will become 2nd nature to you.

Hi Grandpabruce. Thanks for your input. I totally agree with you that once I figure it out, it will be 2nd nature but I honestly find that the help menus provided in the software is very weak. I am either looking in the wrong place or instructions for this topic is not in there. I just looked. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you.

Ken, have you checked the manuel at the top of the page under General Discussion? It might help.
