Hi.

Can anyone help me to resolve a problem I have with using the Plug In for Photo Story 3?

I am unable to get the saved story to burn to DVD using my new Roxio software?

It gets as far as `checking media" on the progress bar and then stops and hangs for AGES!
I then get an error message that there is a problem, but it does not say what the problem is!

Anyone who can help?

Many thanks

BjayB

PS I have tested the DVD media and used it for burning movies and this has been OK.

I assume that you followed all the instructions on the Microsoft web page (step 4) so we now have to look at the burner and the media. Is it a fresh DVD with nothing on it? Did you perhaps format it? What brand? Plus R or dash R, or RW ? Have you tried a different brand/format disc? What burner do you have have? Have you ever updated the firmware for that burner? It seems like the burner can't see the media. That would probably be a burner problem or a blank disc problem. Please provide more specifics.

Hi

Yes, I have followed all MS instructions and have checked my media is Blank before starting.

I forgot to say that the process gets as far as `converting files` and gets half way across on the `progress bar` before it stops and just hangs!

I am able to read and write many other types of files using this same burner. It is an NEC ND1300A. I have tried using BOTh types of DVD media Plus and Minus.

Have you any further ideas please?

I have the same problem. However, I successfully burned one Verbatim DVD+RW with my photo story. I cannot burn another DVD using the same photo story. Please help!

Have either one of you tried updating the firmware in the burner and trying a different brand(s) of media, as was suggested in post # 2 in this thread.

Why would I need to do that? I burned one DVD successfully just two days ago. What could have happened in just two days??????

Thanks,

Hi Michelle,
NO! I was able to burn one more dvd by re-installing the roxio software but was unable to do it again even when I did re-install the software. If you figure out the solution, please let me know. It's very frustrating. I feel like it was a waste and the photo story3 doesn't help me if I cannot create a dvd.

I am having the same problem now. After wasting hours of time at Roxio teck suggestion, I contacted Microsoft and found out that it is a Roxio problem and they don't have any credible teck support---unless you want to pay another $35 ---If they won't stand behind their products, I'll never buy another one from them.

I would recommend you start a new post, and provide as many details as you can.

The more you can tell us the easier to provide help.
What program in Sonic are you using?
In Photostory, what have you set the output to........
