Hi can someone out there please help[font=Comic Sans Ms]

I have always used E C C I have just bought 8, I have spent one whole week saving files etc for putting onto a disk, I used drag to disk dropping a total of 4.1gb onto disk and recording it, when it was complete I checked and opened folders to make sure all was well, as there were real personal bits on there holiday photos you name it. they all opened fine. 2 days later I found I needed some stuff of the disk, I put it in my laptop (where it was recorded from) and it is showing nothing on the disk yet it is full, you put your curser over the disk it shows 0 bytes, I really need help on this I am so depressed not being able to get at the stuff I`ve saved. in the properties it is showing 0 byes free and 0 bytes used, yet it took vertually a full disk worth of bits and 45mins to record. please help.

You just found out why one should NEVER use packet writing software for backing up important data. Always use Creator Classic.

Packet writing software (Drag to Disc, InCD, and DLA) is unreliable, at best.

You may be able to recover your data with a program like ISO Buster or CD Roller.

Hi All,
I'm glad i've finally found someone else with this problem.
I have been using easy cd 7 for a while to put photos, mp3s etc onto dvds, this has always worked fine, and i have been able to leave the DVD as appendable and add more data at a later time. I have recently updated to easy cd 8, last week i added more photos to a photo disc ive been making for a few weeks, and closed the disc off as it had nearly reached its full capacity.
Ive just gone to take a look at my disc now, and it won't open. running properties on this disc shows 0 bytes used, 0 bytes free.
Unlike 'Jessmate' I did use creator classic, using the option make data disc.
Why has this suddenly happened, and is it something that i can stop by adjusting certain features within easy cd 8?

Also i forgot to mention, in easy cd 8 when i went to close the disc last week, it warned me something about only being able to have 1 session on a dvd???
Not really sure what it meant.

If anyone has any ideas around this really frustrating problem, I would love to hear them Please?

Many thanks
Julie.

Apparently V.8 made a separate session than V.7.

Have you tried the recovery programs mentioned, cdroller (www.cdroller.com) or ISOBuster (www.isobuster.com)? Both have excellent testimonials on their websites and in the Roxio boards. Both have "trial" versions that let you see if anything can be recovered before you have to pay.

And maybe someone else will comment about how to get into "disc properties" to see if you can get to the earlier session.

Thanks for that, I have been to the cd roller and downloaded it, it shows all my lost stuff, so its worth paying, many thanks for the info.

Julie, is it a DVD+R or DVD-R disc that you used? I believe one or the other format doesn't support multi-sessions, or at least not well. Anyway, I would suggest that either of the progams mentioned above, CD-Roller or ISOBuster could help.

If you go into Tools -> Disc & Device Utility, and look at the disc, does it show you multiple sessions on the disc?

Unfortunately, I haven't found anything in version 8 that is like the old "Session Selector" application that was part of ECDC 5. You may be able to use the Disc Emulator to load one of the sessions, but I'm only wildly speculating here and have never tried it.

Let us know how you make out.
