i have been using Toast for years, i produce CDs for my students that have handouts, home works and all sorts of other files on it. one of my students suggested i make it more user friendly.

i thought i had, and on a mac, the CD has a nice background and a custom picture for it's icon. just like toast allows. however, the student created a PC disc that when placed into a PC, a program launches and has a navigation menu to look at.

i have seen similar discs, but much fancier then this, but have seen very few that run in mac or mac and PC.

what i am wondering is Toast capable of doing this too, or is there perhaps another software that will allow me to do this in a mac for both macs and pcs? i have looked at and played with Toast a lot and can't find it if it is there.

any insight would be helpful.

Apple doesn't allow auto-run apps as a way to prevent spreading viruses. Toast can include a PC auto-run, but not one for Mac.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

Thank you for your reply.

:) that is good news, i don't want to create a mac Autorun just a pc autorun on my mac/pc hybrid discs. See i find the few mac users that come to my classes are usually computer literate enough to look at what is on the disc and find the stuff in the "folders."

However  the PC users don't seem to be able to go to the "Admin" folder and find the "syllabus.doc" they are looking for something to tell them where it is. they can't even figure out how to find and install a pdf reader if they don't have one. i can't seem to download one since adobe keeps sending me back to the mac one, when i try to download the PC one.

So how can i get toast to create that autorun on the PC disc for me? i can't seem to find a way to do it.

Just google it and you will find a whole bunch of info on creating an AUTORUN.INF file which is basically just a batch file that executes when the disc is inserted. They are pretty simple to make so don't stress yourself out with the technical terms I used.
