Is there a way to turn off the Quick Find service when starting Roxio Home? I've turned of Hard Drive watch and cancelled all folder monitoring, but Quick Find continues to load each time I start Roxio. I dont like/need the option and it slows down Roxio startup.

Thanks

Thanks for the tip but I already have that service disabled. I'm hoping Sonic will make Quick Find an option to start and stop. Its an annoying feature and really slows down the Home page start up.

Unlike Media Manager I don't think you can turn it off.I never use the home app so I never see it but the times I've looked to try and help someone I haven't found a way to turn it off.

I'm not sure about this but when Quick Find finishes running,at the bottom of the box there is a settings button. If you push it Media Manager comes up.Try disabling Media Manager and see if it stops Quick Find from running. You can turn it off from your task bar, right clicking on the icon and hitting "stop watching folders".You can also go into msconfig and uncheck RoxWatchTray9 and reboot your computer.

Been there, done that. Even with everything turned off, shut down, etc it takes "QuickFind" 5 minutes to completely load. A big waste of time. Sonic needs to fix this one.

Anyone know if I can uninstall just Media Manager. I know that will fix the problem.

It's basically a trimmed down Media Manager Bruce. If you use the Home app and do an Audio CD you'll see it running in a pane on the right side of the screen.

You can uninstall Media Manager using the Control Panel and do a Modify of your Installation. Not sure that it's going to kill Quick Find but it's worth a try.

Disabling the ROXMediaDB9 service eliminates Quick Find and also kills Media Manager.
