PC Video OK! All settop DVD players = jerky motion

Created a Disk image file first then Burned the DVD +R
The Video now works nicely on my PC, Audio is in Sync and motion appears mostly normal. This is true when I use Cineplayer to view the .iso and also when I play the DVD on the PC using Cineplayer or other DVD players on the PC.
But ... On three different DVD players the motion of any fast moving objects in the scene is very jerky (Kind of Skip frame or fast motion artifact) The background or still objects still look good. Graphics are fine.
Is this a Mpeg2 issue ? Should I always expect this when using the best Quality 10mb/sec Mpeg2 rendering?
Any suggetsions of where I'm going wrong now...
Thanks
PS: My PC is a Dell Demension w/ 2 gig of RAM/ Nvidia Video board w/128mg RAM Not that this means much!

On my PC, Hardware Render passes the test but any panning produces blurriness. Not the same a "jerky" but it is something you can try.

Still get the same jerky motion with fast moving objects .
I also tried selecting 2x speed on the DVD+R writing... Same old!
I've upgraded all the firmware on the TEAC DVD + RW drive ... Tried again ..
Still Jerky !

You have used both 'plus' and 'dash' media?
You mentioned capturing and encoding at 10mbps. Since Roxio only goes to 9mbps what software are you using?
You also mentioned that it plays OK on your PC but it is Players that are having trouble. You might try dropping back to 8mbps to see if the Players can keep up with that.

From Gary's post:
Click on TOOLS, then OPTIONS
When you run the graphics test, the radial button should change to the correct setting. DO NOT force it to hardware because i this can cause rendering to lock up the computer if your video chipset does not fully support DirectX.

Below is the user defined setting of the Final rendering, I placed the slider in the MB/sec. selection all the way to the right .. I got 10:
Video: ROXIO MPEG-2 Video Encoder, 720x480,29.97 fps, 10 Mbs, interlaced
Audio: MPEG-1 Layer II, Stereo, 48kHz, 16bit, 320kbs
The final may be 9.XXX but this should not matter much ... Should it?
My Original captures are Mpeg2 @ 9.33mbs from a Analogue Capture card .. (Dell Movie Studio device)
The Originals look OK in Preview as .mpg and after rendering still ok ( the same) as .mpeg files
The iso file previews on the PC quite well ... maybe a little poorer image quality but OK.
Would recapturing the video as AVI help?
Does using a DVD-R vs a DVR+R make a big difference? I've only used DVD+R's.
If so ... This software is really too finiky!

Capture as an AVI file, if possible. The software could care less whether or not you use DVD-R or DVD+R, but your burner might, and your set top DVD player might.

Most 3rd party capture devices that work through USB are not compatible with Roxio or at least are viewed as a web cam. In that case the capture quality is very low, which will produce the results you have experienced.
Glad you got it running!
