I want to back up, or better yet, get rid of my VHS tape collection. To that end, I bought a Canopus 110 to make the connection between the VCR and my Mac G4.
The first time I made the connection, Toast v7.1 started up. I went to import within Toast, hit play on the VCR, and the video started coming. But after finishing some hours later, I couldn't find the next step. I didn't see anyway to save what I had just imported.
My primary goal is to get the VHS to disk; secondarily, to copy to DVD.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I don't think Toast can import directly from a Canopus. At least it used to be that Toast only imported from camcorders and not from analog-to-digital capture devices. What I've done is used Vidi to capture the video using a Canopus device and then drag that video to the Toast Video window. You also could use QuickTime Pro or iMovie.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!
