( deleted first sentence)  I have a slide show which is 433 photos (about 34 min). I put music to it and put it into MyDVD (I really have no idea what I'm doing with any of this, and this seemed this easiest way.) My show plays beautifully on a computer. When I burn it onto DVD, however, it plays the first 10 minutes or so, then skips to about the last 5 minutes. The type DVD does not matter. So it must be in the burning process. I've tried "condensing" the file and the photos--that does not seem to matter. . Please be specific. I'm REALLY a novice!

I am also having trouble similar to you. I have a slide show which is 433 photos (about 34 min). Please be specific. I'm REALLY a novice!

When you go to burn, select burn to image file (iso) and uncheck everything else.  Once the iso file is completed, copy the iso file to the DVD blank using Disc Copier or Creator Classic.  This method separates the encoding from the burning and has solved this type of issue.  Do not use your computer while the project is being encoded and make sure you have disconnected from the internet and shut down your anti-virus  and anti-malware.  Also use a good brand of DVD blank; preferably one recommended by your DVD burner manufacturer.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
