:) I am continuing to do battle with Creator 9.  After getting through my basic install problems, I am now dealing with problems from upgrading to a better computer.  I have installed several DVD packages and most are working on the new machine, but not Creator 9.  I am getting the message outlined in the title of this posting.  I did a clean uninstall including removing all traces of Sonic, Sonic Solutions and Roxio from the registry and then a fresh install.  No progress, I still get the same error.  It may have been caused by one of the other packages stomping on a Roxio registry entry, but that is just a guess.

Does anyone have a clue what is going on and how I can fix it?

Thanks!

Fred

Nope, learned that lesson.  Turned them all off before during and after the install.  I had EMC9 running before the computer upgrade and the installation of several other DVD burning programs.  I noticed that one of them trashed two registry entries that seemed to be owned by Roxio, so thus the clean install process.

I am wondering if there is something meaningful in the "No permission" part of the error?

:) Well, after six or eight install attempts and reading through all the various threads on the "No permission" problem, I still have had no success installing EMC9 and getting it to work. From other postings it is clear that this is not a problem unique to me.  I am throwing in the towel and using another product.

Of course that is your choice…

If it were mine, I would pick up the phone and call Tech Support.

This has 2 advantages, you work directly with a technician and your particular situation may give them the insight needed to resolve the issue for other users.

I'm having the same issue, I've tried quite a few times to install after a cleaning everything up  :)  I need to call but they are closed when I get home from work.
