Here is a strange one! Recently, when I split a clip in to sections and then select Preview (of the whole clip) I get a situation where the play back hesitates at the point of the split. Then the video does a quick step (like old time talkie movies) for a second or so and then everything is back in sync.
I am quite sure this didn't used to happen but rolling the computer back to an earlier checkpoint made no change. This does not always happen with every split in a given clip.
Also it may or may not happen with a transition and the phenomenon may or may not carry over on to the disc when it is burned.
It is not a big deal but it does not look too professional when showing a disc to someone. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I've never seen that happen myself but I don't normally preview the file
Why not try a test burn and see if it does carry over - it could be down to a lot of factors in the preview being read from the image file
Let us know what happens when it is finalised on DVD

If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

I guess my wording caused confusion. Some of the places where there is a hesitation does, in fact, carry over on to the DVD but other places it does not carry over to the DVD. I have also noticed that if i run the Preview a couple of time (right in the area of the hesitation) that it sometimes goes away at least for the moment) and then again other places on the same clip the hesitation doesn't change at all with repeated Previews.
