Wii U - Hd Pro - Sd Television Hook-Up

Question

I currently have my Wii U connected to an SD TV through Red-Green-Blue component cables. Will I be able to connect from the Wii U to the HD Pro with my HDMI cable, and leave the component cable connection from the Wii U to my television?

Or do I have to connect in series: Wii U to HD pro to TV?

Thanks.

Brett

IF the WII U allows you to enable both outputs (Component R/G/B and HDMI) at the same time, then you could connect as you want. I don't have a WII U to know if it will support that.

I also don't recall if the WII U adds HDCP (copy protection) to the HDMI output. If it does, and it doesn't allow you to turn it off, then you'll need to use the Component connection to the RGC HD Pro instead of the HDMI connection.

and one advantage of using Component Input... You can use HDMI for the output from the RGC!

Of course if your TV does not work with HDCP code (RGC adds it) Then we need to move to Plan B.

FYI, my notes indicate a Wii U does not use HDCP...
