I have successfully created quite a few dvd's using MyDVD 9 (i.e. adding avi files and mpegs). But this is where my problem starts, The dvd's are not copy protected and when I try to make a duplicate of the dvd it won't play properly in any of my dvd players. I don't seem to get the menu that was created in the original. I can still play the mpegs that were on the dvd by pushing the stop button on the remote then pressing play.
Can anyone tell me what the problem is. I have also tried coping these dvd's with other programs but with the same result.
My PC is powerful enough i.e. dual processor 3 gig with 2 gig of ram. :)

How are you making copies of this dvd?  I would suggest making an image file (ISO) on the first run then once you have that ISO, you can make as  many copies as you want with Disc Copier or Creator Classic.
However, I don't know why, if you are simply using the Disc Copy function, this should not work in the first place.
Were you using Disc Copier or the Copy functions in the Home screen?

I'm sure I have tried both Disc Copier and the basic function. This is the first program that I have used to make home movies and not been able to make a copy. As you said, I could make an ISO file and use that to make copies but I may not want to do a copy until the following year and I don't want to leave ISO files on my machine.
Thanks for your reply.  :)

You don't have to leave the .iso's on your hard drive, you can save them on a DVD data disc. Then if you want to use it again you can just load it onto your computer, use it then delete it. Having an external hard drive for back ups is good too.

I think I have found my problem. I was in America recently and purchased Roxio Media creator 9, when returning back to Australia is when my problems started, Im running a program called Anydvd which makes my dvd drive multizone, but when I insert a dvd created by MyDVD it said that the dvd structure was incorrect and tries to fix it. This is when I have problems copying the dvd, If I turn off anydvd I can copy the dvd no problems. After doing some research, I found that anydvd is saying it has detected NTSC & PAL on the same dvd which is not correct and tries to fix it. Why would there be any NTSC on the dvd when you tell MyDVD to make a PAL dvd in it's settings. :)

Any help would be appreiciated.

If you made it PAL, then it is PAL,  If it works with AnyDVD turned off, then turn it off.  You aren't decrypting commercial movies are you?  Unfortunately, it is illegal here in the U.S.A. and Canada, so if you are having problems that way, we can't help you in these forums, whether we want to or not.

No, I buy a lot of dvd's from America (i.e. Amazon) and AnyDVD gives me the ability to play them on a zone 4 dvd rom drive. I used to use dvd genie but found you can only change the zone a number of times before it gets stuck in the one zone. :)

While trying to sort a different problem, I noticed in the "Browse for Disc Image/DVD Video Folder" dialogue that in an .ISO of a PAL format project, there's a "Sonic" splashscreen that shows up as NTSC.  I wonder why, too...
