Always says the files don't match, but actually fails before getting to the verify stage. BD-RE discs work fine. Same issue with DigitalMedia v7 LE. Have managed to record with other software (ashampoo), but that's useless, so I want to use Roxio. Drive is Pioneer BDR-101A.

How much are those costing you to turn into a coaster?
Seriously that would seem to be a question to ask Pioneer.

Indeed, very espensive coasters. But it works with other software (which, unfortunately doesn't support burning individual files over 2GB, thus rendering it useless), so it isn't the drive. I hold Sonic responsible for the cost, which easily outstrips the purchase cost of EMC9! Same problem with EMC9 and DigitalMedia v7.

I would definitely check and see if Pioneer has any new firmware out for the drive. Keep in mind that this is a users forum, and you're the first poster I've seen working with a BD drive. Living on the cutting edge, you're bound to get knicked once in awhile.

manolan,
I have a question, what software comes with the Pioneer BD burner?
Perhaps you could explain more in detail what apps your using in V9 that, (Always says the files don't match, but actually fails before getting to the verify stage.) Fails with recorded BD-R, BD-RE discs work fine.

The software with the drive is Sonic DigitalMedia v7 LE, which fails in exactly the same way: hardly a surprise as it looks almost identical to EMC9.

I'm trying to create a data disc. The burning appears to go ok, but just before getting to the end of writing, it stops and says that one of the files doesn't match (which is what happens when a verify fails), but it hasn't actually started to verify at that stage.

I can take the same project and burn it fine to a BD-RE.

I can also burn projects to BD-R with ashampoo, which is another reason I don't think it is the drive. (ashampoo doesn't seem capable of recording files over 2GB which is why I'm not using that).

And there are no firmware upgrades for the drive - I've checked.

I have never used verify and probably never will. Uncheck verify, and see what happens.

Don't think verify is the problem. I only started using it because the first discs didn't work properly. Running a diff shows the disc clearly didn't finish writing.
