After cycling through these message a few times I get back to a normal desktop but it all starts again when I start EMC 9. Has anyone had this same problem? Can it be fixed? I set a restore point prior to installation. Should I unistall the program or restore to before installation?

What have you tried so far? Did you go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall DAO? If it is there, uninstall it.
Do you have an ATI All In Wonder video card?

I did as you suggested and everythings seems to be working fine. I do have a ATI USB wonder device which I no longer use so I had previously uninstalled the ATI programs. Just out of curiousity what is DAO? Why did uninstalling it fix my problem?
Thank you so much. I will continue to monitor this board for helpful hints.

Go into the search (top right) and type in dao.

DAO is Data Access Object, and is pretty much unnecessary for most normal human beings with their computers. It's been a longstanding silly issue with Easy Media Creator. Nobody has ever successfully explained why it goofs with EMC. Removing it seems to fix the problem.
From here: http://www.webopedia...TERM/D/DAO.html
(1) Short for data access objects, objects that work with the Jet database engine. DAO objects are generally created with Visual Basic. Once created, a DAO object can be accessed and manipulated by any application that can use the Jet engine. This includes all of the applications in Microsoft Office, such as MS-Word, MS-Access, and Excel.
By the way, you who said use the search function - it leads to a bunch of very long twisted threads that don't answer Jack's question at all.

You are welcome, Jack. See the post above mine, for the answer on what DAO is. I have no clue why it messes with Roxio software.
