I bought an ATI All-in-Wonder card with 256MB Ram and finally the display card problem with EMC9 is now solved. However, the software (Catalyst) that came with the new ATI display card seems to have conflicts with EMC9's files. Whenever I start EMC9. a message pops up saying EMC9's media monitoring or alert program is killed unexpectedly or the like.
Besides, with EMC9 installed, at the end of the installation of the Catalyst v.9.06, and after each reboot, it attempted and reattempted to configure DAO, and assumed to use the source in C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\_isBA\ to find DAO.msi. Hence it reported that The path C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\_isBA\DAO.msi cannot be found, and asked to "verfiy that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation DAO.msi in a folder from which you can install the product DAO."
Since failing to find such path and file, DAO gives an error 1706 message which says "No valid source could be found for product DAO. The Windows Installer cannot continue."
Seems like Catalyst and EMC9 cannot co-exist. Any hints?
