Hi all,
When I run either MyDVD or MyDVDExpress the application locks up if I lock my PC while the video is encoding. If I lock the PC and then go to unlock it, the PC emits a system beep and when I get back into Windows the MyDVD window doesn't appear, but it's still in the task bar.. The only way to recover is to end task and restart the app.
I need to lock my PC as it's shared in my household.
I am running Windows XP SP2 with 1Gb RAM and a 2Gb AMD Athlon. I have DirectX9.0c installed and an ATI Radeon x700 graphics card.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Are you talking about logging out, which would be the only terminlogy that I know? If you are encoding a project, there is no way that you can log out without that happening. You should be doing NOTHING on your computer while your production is encoding.

Hi. No I'm just talking about locking the PC by pressing the Windows Key/L so that it either goes back to the welcome screen (fast user switching) or to the logon dialogue box (without fast user switching). I have tried it with fast user switching turned off and that doesn't solve the problem either.

Read my post again. Don't be pressing any keys. You are killing your encoding. Set your production to burn, walk away from the computer until it is done, and slap anyone who touches the computer, up the side of the head, if your production is still encoding.

I just tried it, several times and it works as advertised. The encoding continues while the PC is locked…
In any case, this would be a Windows issue and not a program issue.

Thing is, I just tried doing it with the "DivX DVDs" application and I had no problems with locking the PC during the encoding process. It's only with MyDVD or MyDVD Express.

Yep, I get the same thing. Roxio 9 crashes when Windows is locked.
One of the reasons I guess we want to lock the PC while encoding is to stop other people touching the PC while encoding...

Clearly you 2 are having Windows problems. I tested on 2 PC now, XP Pro and XP Home and the program does not miss a beat!
