When I try to import photos or videos from my Sony DSC M-1 via a USB connection with Media import 9, I receive a message of Microsoft Visual C++ runtime library stating that the program has to close in an unsual way

Before I was using EMC 8 with no problem
I download the patch for runtime error...no result and try about everything that is on Roxio community with no success

What format are the files? Remember, you can't capture a video from a camera with this product using USB. It sees your camera as a web cam. Use the program that came with the camera. Did you try to just copy the images and videos from the memory card to the computer?

You indicated that V8 worked? :) It should not have. If it did it was just luck.

You should be able to get those images from the camera. Use Media Import and select photo and then see if your camera is listed. If so, you should be able to import the images.

This is a users board and people respond when they have time and a reasonable answer. If you had provided more information about what you are doing and what kinds of formats and errors you are getting, perhaps the responses would have been more direct and more frequent.

Thanks for answering, I am a new user of the Roxio community
I try to import photos (jpeg) and videos (mpeg-4) from the camera and from the pro duo memory stick with the same result:runtime error. I unsintalled Emc 9 and re-installed Emc 8 and with it, it works perfectly from the camera and from the pro duo card. That's why I think that the problem comes from Emc 9
My computer is a HP a1020n with 1G of memory and a 200G hard disk
Every thing else seems to work well. I know I can use the program from Sony (Picture Package), but I would prefered to use Roxio to capture as I was doing with Emc 8 because the program from Sony is a mess!
