Cant Get Working. Driver Issues? Win10

Question

Been trying to get working, just got today and not working to any avail

Software installs and runs but no signal found.

Using win10, I have tried installing, reinstalling, repairing- every time trying something I would uninstall the two devices in device manager and unplug.

I have downloaded and installed the driver pack from: https://support.core...D-3-Plus-device

Also tried manually installing drivers from location where the driver pack installed to.

My device manager looks like the attached images. Please help!

Two quick things-- did you install the device before you installed the software - if so the wrong drivers were installed. You'll have to remove the device with device manager, reboot, install/repari the software and reboot and then finally plu in the device. The second thing - install the device in a port on the back of your computer. The ones in the front usually are not fully powered. Oh, and a third thing, make sure the port is active. Windows 10 sometimes turns them off There is a setting to keep them on full powered.

That is not a driver pack; it is a driver for this software.

I previously did all steps listed. To be thorough, I went ahead and followed each step you recommended and I have the same result.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

I tried it with the update and without the update.

I will try uninstalling the drivers, reboot, repairing software, installing patch, then plugging in the device, and will post if any changes

I attempted this, same result.

There are not many but there is a possibility that the device us bad. Perhaps a call to Roxio/Corel sales would be in order.

You did buy it from them or in a box and not from seller of used programs correct?

Do you have a different computer (perhaps a friend's) to try it on?

Just want to confirm that all you want to do is to take analog VHD tapes, capture them to your computer, do so minor editing and burn to a file or to a disc. You are not trying to use it form get input from any digital device.

With the device plugged in right click on the two entries the red arrow is pointing to and uninstall them

Now unplug the USB Device and reboot the PC.

When the PC is back up and running run the,

I have downloaded and installed the driver pack from: https://support.core...D-3-Plus-device

again and reboot the PC when finished.

Now open the software and plug-in the USB Device.

Does it work now? If not post a pic of device manager again.

Follow each step. Same issue. Screen of Device Manager attached

You need to follow the directions to the 'T'!

Read careful you unplug the device after uninstalling the two entries in device manager and before rebooting the PC.

Leave it unpluged until you install the drivers and reboot the PC after installing them.

You need to follow the directions to the 'T'!

funny you say that, I was going to say "followed each step to the T" but just kept it short.

So yes I already have done that.

Right now, I am trying:

uninstall driver, reboot

uninstall software via revo, deleting residual files, reboot

deleting all items in %temp%, reboot

installing software, reboot

installing patch, reboot

installing driver package, reboot

starting software and plugging in

will post if any changes.

If you did it like I said you wouldn't have a 'other devices' entry after!

I can't do it for you so you do what you want.

I completed the list of steps I listed out, no change in device manager.

I then redid everything you listed out, exactly how you listed, and I still have the device showing in 'other devices'

Other devices only shows when the USB device is plugged in before the correct driver is installed!

Or it wasn't uninstalled in device manager long with the other Roxio driver.

yes they disappear once I right click them and uninstall them.

they are not present when i unplug them.

They are not present when i reboot.

they are not present when i repair/reinstall the software

they are not present when i reboot again

they are not present when i install the driver package

they are not present when i reboot again

they are not present when i open the software

the 'other device' reappears only once i have re-plugged in the device and followed the previous steps.

i am sorry if i did not communicate clearly before.

am i still missing something?

I don't know how much help this will be but to begin with there are 2 Roxio Capture USB devices.

Both work using the EVD3 software in Win 10.

The devices look like this:

And their drivers look like this when correctly installed in Win 10:

If your drivers do not look exactly like the ones I have shown and to your particular device, it will never work!

(most likely if you bought the EVD with the device included from a Store, you have the new one - ebay or open box, all bets off)

But once the wrong drivers are installed they can only be removed by the steps cd outlined in his post.

If you can get someone to go through those steps with you to make sure you are not making a mistake and repeating it each time you try the steps - been there, done that :D
