Dvd Chapters Dont Exist Or Crash

Question

I have toast 15 titanium running on a mac powerbook 3.1 ghz i7 with 16 GB if RAM, running el capitan, using a superdrive.
I want to add chapters to the dvd I am making from old VHS tapes I imported using vidbox.

first I tried making chapters in iMovie, and then burning with "automatic chapters" selected, but while the dvd played, there were no chapters, just the text I added.

then I used slice to make mp4 chapters, but Ive tried twice to make a dvd using MyDVD, sometimes the menu works, sometimes not, and while 1 or 2 chapters play, the disc crashes and is unable to be read.
I am not happy with this $100 product

There are a couple of articles in the Knowledge Base on this - HERE and HERE

Sadly these articles are neither Version specific nor are they dated  Also keep in mind you have to read them closely. Automatic Chapters from iMovie only work when you are using a specific project type, Plug and Burn. If you stop reading when you see 'it works' or don't realize what a P&B project is, it won't work.

Please don't think I know what I am talking about as I don't have Toast or a MAC ;)

What version of iMovie are you using. iMovie dropped support for creating chapters. In order to create chapter markers in iMovie, you need to use an earlier version of iMovie. It is possible to create chapter markers with FCP X. That sw of course costs $299.00 Read here for more information: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6775984?start=0&tstart=0
