Hi

I'm new to this forum, so hope this question is ok.....

I've got Vista RC1 installed, with IE7. I've just bought EMC9 (never had a Roxio prodcut before, so it's a clean install), but when I try to install I get error code 03F2.80070005, and can't get any further.

I've looked around this forum, and have found some posts about this, but most seem to end up being some sort of slanging match between forum members, without actually providing any usefull advice.

So my questions are:

1. Is there any way I can install EMC9 on Vista RC1? I've seem some registry hacks posted:
#BEGIN emc9.reg

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sonic\Registration\Roxio Easy Media Creator 9]
"RemindForNLaunches"=dword:00000005
"RemindAfter"=dword:00000003
"ShowRegistration"=dword:00000000
"ReminderCount"=dword:00000001
"Last"=dword:45035ef3

#End emc9.reg

Does this work? If so, is there a step-by-step guide on how to apply it?

2. If not are there any other options available? Or will I just have to wait for the final Vista to be released?

3. If I did get EMC9 running on Vista RC1, is there likely to be any problem when I eventually buy the full Vista product next year?

Thanks for any help.

You aren't talking to Roxio techs support, on these forums. We are users, and maybe there is someone who has tried that registry hack, but I would bet, not many.

The short answer is that for right now, EMC 9 does not get along with Vista, which is still a beta program.

FYI, there was and issue with the version of IE7 in the Vista RC1, and this was fixed in the RC2 5830 and 5840 versions of Vista (also fixed by Microsoft in the full version release of IE7 for XP and 2K). it works well on Vista full release, EMC9 rocks along nicely as you would expect.
