Please tell us, step-by-step, what program in the suite you're using and how you're trying to use it.

Then we should be able to work out what you're doing wrong, or help you with the right way to do it.

Regards,

Brendon

I purchased a NEW RoxioEasyCDandDVDBurning Program to replace my Creator 2010 using Windows 7. I open it and choice make or burn a Audio CD as I did for years with my old Roxio Creater 10. I select the music and add then under the graph shows the CD is nearly full. I BURN A CD AND WHEN I CLOSE IT AS I DID FOR YEARS WITH THE SAME FORMAT IT ASKS "IF YOU WANT TO SAVE YOUR PROJECT" AND I WOULD TO THE LOCATION OF THE MUSIC FILES I BURNED.

Now when I do the same thing with my new ROXIO EASY CD AND DVD BURNING it asks "do you want to save your project and when I select that option BUT INSTEAD THE PROGRAM FRAME IS IN BLACK AND ALL THE MUSIC FILES ARE GONE TO SAVE THE CD PROJECT TO.

Friendly,

I'm having some difficulty understanding what you're seeing.

Here's my Easy CD & DVD Burning when I burn an audio CD, using the menu item "Burn Audio CDs". If you're using the other method "Create Music Disc Projects" please let me know. [if you're not, why not try it??]

I burn the CD and go to exit the program. I get this picture:

post-208-0-71637900-1478086628_thumb.jpg

I go to save the project file on the HD.

post-208-0-22999600-1478086713_thumb.jpg

The project file saves where indicated, and I exit.

Please tell me what happens when you try to do the same, or better still post a screenshot showing when it goes wrong.

Regards,

Brendon

That is exactly what I saw for all the years I used the Roxio Creator 10 and NOW with my newly purchased Easy CD & DVD Burning program after I check YES the Entire Roxio is black and if I try to close it that little option to SAVE the CURRENT AUDIO POPS UP but again if I try to save it I get the BLACK SCREEN and I have to finally close it. I can't imagine I am doing something wrong because I have been using this same FORMAT for years just as you posted it.

I uninstalled everything and reinstalled my Roxio Easy CD & DVD Burning program. My first attempt to save the current PROJECT worked perfectly.

I purchased the NEW Roxio Easy CD & DVD Burning Program. Some weeks ago I posted that WHENEVER I SELECT TO SAVE THE PROJECT I JUST MADE I GET A BLACK SCREEN WITH IN THE FRAME OF THE ROXIO Roxio Easy CD & DVD Burning PROGRAM.

I can not save any projects ALL WE GET IS A FRAMED BLACK IMAGE IN THE ROXIO FRAME. We are using WINDOWS HOME PREMIUMN, THIS HAPPENED BEFORE FOR DAYS UNTIL I UN-INSTALLED THE Roxio Easy CD & DVD Burning AND RE INSTALLED IT.

THIS TIME THAT DID NOTHING, I TURNED OFF THE ANTI VIRUS PROGRAM TO INSTALL AND RUN the program but EVERY SINGLE TIME I SELECT "SAVE THE PROJECT TO" AND CLICK ON IT THE ROXIO FRAME IS COMPLETELY BLACK.

Did you try the other method "Create Music Disc Projects" that was suggested in post #4?.

WHAT I get as it relates to POST #4 is the ROXIO image is NOW A BLACK BOX after burning a CD, it asks to save but DOES NOTHING if I chose save. The entire ROXIO IMAGE IS JUST A BLACK BOX AND nothing is saved or offered. I uninstalled it and reinstalled at least 4 times turning off my ANTI VIRUS AND MALWAREBYTES each time.

I should mention I have also RUN THE REPAIR OPTION AT LEAST FOUR TIMES AS WELL. That doesn't help either.

Are you using a remote monitor or a smart TV? Did you install any codec packs? Can you show us a screen shot of the black box?

Something may be missing from your computer - really from Windows. How about a screen shot showing the frame and black box please. It would also be helpful if you post the dxdiag for your computer -- follow these instructions.(link).

SCREEN LOCKS UP AND GOES BLACK EVERY TIME I TRY TO SAVE A PROJECT OR BURN A DISC. I GET THE SAME ANSWER AND NOTHING HELPS, I SENT IN THE CRASH REPORT AND I DON'T BELIEVE ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO DIAGNOSE THE CRASH FILE.  THERE HAS TO BE A SOFTWARE ISSUE THAT ROXIO IS NOT ADDRESSING, I GET THE SAME SUGGESTION A DOZEN TIMES BUT FOR SOME REASON ROXIO DOESN'T SEEM TO CARE OR HAVE THE SKILLS TO FIX THE PROBLEM.

Kegsh01,

Thank you for contacting Corel Technical Support.

My name is George and I have been assigned to your ticket.
I completely understand that you are having problems with our program.
I'm very sorry for the issue you are encountering right now.
Please uninstall Easy CD and DVD Burning, and any other Roxio software that is currently on your computer. After uninstalling, reboot your computer, and then configure Windows to show hidden files and folders. If you need instructions on how to do this, please follow the instruction below:

Here's how to display hidden files and folders.

Windows 7
1. Select the Start button, then select Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization.
2. Select Folder Options, then select the View tab.
3. Under Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives, and then select OK.

Once you have hidden files and folders showing, please proceed with these steps:

1. Go to " C:\Users\*your username*\AppData\Local\";
2. Locate any or all of these folders:

- "Rovi_Corporation”;
- “Corel_Corporation”;
- “Roxio”;
- “Roxio Log Files”;
- “Sonic”;
- “Simple Star”;

3. Rename these folders by adding a “.old” at the end of their names. For instance, "Rovi_Corporation" to "Rovi_Corporation.old";
4. Go to "C:\Users\*_yourusername_*\AppData\Roaming\" and check to see if you find the same folders above, and rename them the same way;
5. Go to “C:\Program Files\Common Files” or “C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files” and look for the following folders; rename them the same way:

- PX Storage Engine;
- Roxio Shared;
- Sonic Shared.

6. Go to "C:\Program Data\" and delete the following folders:

- Roxio
- Sonic
- FLEXnet

8. Reboot your computer and reinstall Easy CD and DVD Burning.

*Note: If you do not find some of the folders listed above, this is okay, as long as you searched in the correct locations; this means that those folders have already been removed by the uninstall process. The procedures above is just to make sure that there are no left over files/folders so you can perform a "clean" install of the software.

Please do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions.

Regards,
George

What program do you have? We can then move your topic to the correct forum.

Also a lot more information is required on what you want to do, what your are doing, what source you are using before anybody can really help.

I have done as George instructed at LEAST A DOZEN TIMES OVER SEVERAL MONTHS, FROM NEARLY BACK TO MY PURCHASE OF THIS PROGRAM. It works at best for 2 days and then it crashes and I get the black screen that DOES NOT ALLOW ANYTHING BUT TO CLOSE OUT MY PROJECT.

I have WINDOWS 7 AND THIS IS THE ROXIO EASY CD/DVD BURNING PROGRAM. I had these instructions given to me when this started a few days after my purchase, the CDs burn and I have been using ROXIO PRODUCTS SINCE 1995. I printed out the instructions George shared and follow them STEP BY STEP and in a day or less the BLACK SCREEN COMES UP WHEN I CHECK to safe the latest project, usually a AUDIO CD.

I have uninstalled, reinstalled, used the repair option and IN NO MORE THEN TWO DAYS I AM GETTING THE BLACK SCREEN WHEN I CHECK TO SAVE A AUDIO CD PROJECT.

What keeps me going is I RIP THE CD I BURN INTO A FOLDER AND THEN RATHER THEN SAVE IT I BURN ADDITIONAL CDS from the FOLDER WHERE I RIPPED THE ORGINAL CD PROJECT, THIS IS THE ONLY WAY I CAN KEEP A PROJECT.

As I said I HAVE BEEN USING ROXIO SINCE WE PURCHASED OUR FIRST PC, I PURCHASED NEW VERSIONS FOR THE UPDATES TO NEWER MS PROGRAMS, this just started with THE ROXIO EASY CD/DVD BURNING PROGRAM.

I was told to go to CHROME from IE and it made no difference, if I turn off my Malware or Antivirus it still crashes.

Friendly,

You seem to have been away from posting for a year, and then started your earlier topic again as a separate message.  I've brought the two parts back together to try and help you get a resolution. Please stop "shouting" [using all capitals], and it would be easier to read if you were to stop speaking loudly [bolding everything you write] also.  Thank you.

Now, back to business.  Would you please re-read SKNIS' reply written to you on November 23, 2016, and do what he requests about a screen capture and a dxdiag report?

It seems that your reinstalls work fine for a day or two, and then something in your system breaks the Roxio software.   SKNIS is trying to work out what part of your system is doing that, so please do as he asks.
