So I've had my Roxio for almost a year now. I got the code from Rox-Ralf last time because I didn't have a CD drive on my old laptop either. My problem is that I couldn't recover most of my programs from my old laptop so i don't have the software anymore. Any solutions? I tried contact Rox-Ralf but I kept getting errors saying that he wasn't receiving messages anymore.

You have a valid CD Key to use when you install the program?

Of course, if you still have the disc, you can take it to a friend's (or public library) computer, that has the CD/DVD drive you need, and copy it to a thumb drive, and install from that.

I bought the Roxio and had it installed for almost a year so I never considered needing the disk, especially since I never had a disk drive and still don't. Why can't I just have the link re-sent?

Have you gone back to look for the link?  Maybe it still works.  Those of us on these boards are not working for Roxio, and don't have those links available to us.  As you've noticed, it's not that easy to get ahold of Rox-Ralf anymore.  I'm not even sure he works for Roxio now.

These are all reasons to keep track of and back up the things you have once you get them.  Not everything is always available at the click of a mouse.

Answer my question!

Do you have a valid CD Key to use if a link to the download is available?

Do you consider needing a disc now and into the future?

First: no I do not have the link anymore. I don't know where it could have gone because I hardly ever delete emails, I just read them. Had I known that this was software that even needed to be backed up and I couldn't retrieve it as easily as I had gotten it in the first place, then I would have done so. But that understanding still doesn't help the fact the I now own a $100 piece of useless plastic.

Second: I'm sorry that you didn't understand me Guru but I do not have a CD drive I said. I also mentioned that I had gotten rid of the original CD when I realized I didn't have a CD drive in the first place. This would me that I, in fact, do not have a CD key nor would I need a CD at all considering my computer does not have a CD drive.

Lastly: If there is no way to receive an internet downloadable software link, then please just tell me, because I'm not going to be back home for a few months and no one in my platoon has a laptop that I could download the software onto and transfer from. I would rather not waste the time trying to find lengthy alternate solutions and i'd much rather go purchase a different game capture device.

you keep almost all your emails but throw away a software discs   Guess that poor habit will change now.

Your CD Key should be here under your account take a look HERE to get to it.

Roxio had some protection schemes that weren't really too well thought out.... One of them being that they do not post the software as a general download. The flaw is that the software is useless without the hardware and valid key. Thus it is pretty well protected from the start.

Forum Support has been next to dropped! We haven't had an official full time Moderator here for some time... Even when we did, they were so overloaded with other things they could only check in from time to time.

Get your CD Key then try contacting Support HERE and see if they can provide a download.

Please keep us updated on your progress.

Right... even with a download, you still need the key to install the program.

If you don't know what we are talking about "CD-KEY" why post all this lame crap?

Why not ask what a "CD-Key" is?

The way your Roxio Game Capture Disc came in the box.

20170104_074657.jpg

Flip it over and you will see a "CD-Key" a set of numbers letters in this format  XX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX.

20170104_074709.jpg

When you install the software it asks for the 'CD-KEY" if you don't have a good one the software will not install.

Now as was pointed out if you don't have a good "CD-KEY" a download link would be useless because you don't get a "CD-KEY" with a download of the software.

It couldn't of been explained to you any better, so now I will ask for the last time!

Do you have a valid CD Key to use if a link to the download was available?

You ask for something really not knowing what you need.

We ask questions, you never answer them, and drift off on your own tangent.

I break it down hoping you understand it, then you blame me for belittling you.

All it would of took is a answer to my question and you were that close to getting a download.

Good luck we are done here.
