I copied some music files from the original cd to my hard drive. The filetype is .cda. When I try to make an audio cd with Record Now 8 it says " This is not a valid or supported music file " and .cda files ARE supposed to be recognized by Record Now.
The technical support is the worst thing I have ever encountered. It says you can email them but I when I go through that process I get dumped into a page wanting me to use Roxann and the knowlege base etc. not an actual email. I can't find any way to actually email tech support and I'm not about to pay $30 some dollars for support for a $29 dollar program.
Anyone know how to resolve this problem of Record Now not recognizing valid files?

.cda is not a valid file type.It is only basically a pointer on an audio cd that tells the player where the actual music resides on the disc.If you only copy them you will get nothing. If you noticed they are probably 1Kb in size.To use tracks off of a cd you need to "rip" them to your hard drive in some kind of audio format (mp3,wma,wav,etc..).Or you can Import them from the cd's into your recording project and they will stay as is off the original cd.
Under no circumstances will a .cda file work.

It sounds like you simply want to copy the disc. This can be achieved by selecting to create an Exact Copy of the disc.
An alternative way to do this is to create a new Audio CD project, like the one you made to add the CDA files onto the disc, and then add the audio files directly from the disc. These files will still be CDA but it's all about the pointer. The CDA files you copied to your hard drive are just shortcuts, nothing more, and don't make sense by themselves. If you add the audio files directly from the drive Record Now will realize this and allow you to burn from the audio CD. This will work if you just have one drive because Record Now will copy songs to your hard drive for you automatically and then burn them to the disc when it prompts you to put it in.
