Every time I open media capture it says it has encountered a problem and shuts down, anyone know what to do to correct this?

OK, so maybe we might have established that you have Roxio Easy Media Creator 8 (perhaps).
I do not remember any program in EMC 8 called Media Capture. Media Import sure.
What are your computer specs, and other than trying to open a program, what are you trying to do?
You posted under the photos section from there you can only see a function to import photos. Is that what you are trying to do? If you click on that, you get Media Import. Is that where you are having problems? What source are you trying to import from - images, videos, music?
Sorry if I sound hard and abrupt but if you want a reasonable answer, you need to post reasonable information. I would like to help but in all honesty at this point it would be a guessing game.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

Your right I was rather vague, sorry. I have Media Creator 8.0 with the 8.05 update. When I open Media Import and attempt to open one of the catagories, photo,video etc. I get the error message. I have reinstalled the program to no avail.
