Is there a way to insert two pictures into one panel in videowave?  I know I can scan them together, but I need to do some cropping and editing on each individual picture, but would like to have them side by side in one panel. They are of two separate people.   Am I asking too much???  Mary Kay

In Timeline mode, place one picture in the main track, and then insert another one as an overlay. Then resize and position each image.

PS: I moved this topic to the right subforum as you referred to Videowave.

Thought I knew what I was doing, but again I am stumped.  Added one photo, then added second as an overlay.  Got the red outline around the overlay so I can move and position.  But can't figure out how to move the original either to the left or right hand side of the screen. How do I shift the original picture to one side or the other?   I don't think I have been using Videowave to it's fullest capacity and want to learn a bit more.  Thanks again.  MK

My bad. Here are the steps.

1) Insert a color panel
2) Add the two photos as overlays (you should have two overlay tracks available)
3) Resize and reposition.

Let us know how it goes.

I did just that, but only will allow one overlay.  I have EMC8, not the deluxe version.  Am I just out of luck???  thanks again.   MK

In that case, my idea is to create an mpeg out of one picture and an overlay for the second one in separate productions.

1) Insert a color panel
2) Add the first picture in the overlay track.
3) Adjust the overlay image to the desired size and position
4) Make sure to adjust the duration of the panel (and overlay) to the desired duration
5) Output the production as a video

1) Open a new production
2) Add the video created above to a panel
3) On the same panel, add the second picture as an overlay
4) Resize and reposition this second picture to work with the video
5) Adjust duration of the overlay so that duration is the same as the video.
6) Save the production

What happens if you double click on the color panel? I can't check because I don't have the same version as you do, but let me know what happens when you double click. Just curious.

Thank you for taking an interest in this.  When I double click the panel, with one overlay in it, it just gives me the screen for adjusting the duration.
I have been playing around with this for a couple days now.  What would be the pros and cons of doing a "collage" with the two pictures side by side.  The photos are the regular 4x6, could I crop, resize, and put them directly next to each other???  What size background (8x10, etc) would give me the best quality?  Having fun experimenting, but not sure I know what I am doing.  Thanks again.  MK

I'm surprised. :)   I'm almost sure that I remember that V8 suite (not deluxe) had two overlay tracks.  If I look at the sales blurb for VideoWave 8 (stand lone), a screen shot shows two overlay tracks.  Did you buy the "Essentials" verion that was for sale for a short time?
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

The box EMC 8 came in says "Easy Media Creator 8 Suite.  NOT the essentials version.  Have no idea why I can't do a second overlay.  Would it work if I do a 2 picture collage?  Also, will go back and try doing 2 overlays again and see exactly what happens.   Thanks.   MK
