I have had this issue multiple times now - where I have created a movie file on my apple and go to burn it as a video and then my dvd player can't read it. I can't figure out why it would work sometimes and not others. Has anyone else had this experience? Any suggestions

Are you using RW media?  Most players cant read RW discs.
