OK I purchased EMC 9 because I wanted to get some extra features, etc. I had finished a rather large program fo ror our high school soccer program and wanted to make the upgrade to EMC 9. I did not uninstall EMC 7.5 because I was not sure if my program would automatically download into EMC 9.

What I have noticed is that 7.5 opens extremely fast for me on my system and EMC 9 is very sluggish-when 9.0 does open the program I created in 7.5 looks nothing like it should in 9.0.

My question is should I uninstalled 7.5 when I go back to reinstall 9.0??

I do not want to have both these versions on my computer but am wondering if EMC 9 is worth it!!

By the way I am running a PC with Widows XP Home Edition installed.

Thanks for help in advance,

Mr. Berry

I'll say this first, before I forget it. Go to your C: drive, then Program Files, then click on the Roxio folder and make a folder called Easy Media Creator 9. EMC 9 does not install in a separate folder in the Roxio folder. It scatters it all over in that folder.

Now, unistall both EMC 9 and EMC 7. If you have you .dmsm files saved to any Roxio folder, move it so you don't lose it.

After you have unistalled EMC 9 and EMC 7, with reboots inbetween, get rid of all the stuff in the Roxio folder under program files, except the folder you just made. Find any other reference to Roxio of Sonic, and dump it.

Reboot, and install EMC 9, first. Do a Custom Install, and install it to that Easy Media Creator 9 folder you made. Once you have EMC 9 and the Content disk installed, run some programs in EMC 9, and hopefully you will get the activations screens right away, and you can register and activate the mpeg codec.

Reboot, and install EMC 7.5, along with its Content disk.

BTW, I made the folder I suggested, just to keep things tidy in the Roxio folder.

You don't have to install 7.5. Give EMC9 a try first and if you find it serves your purpose working with multimedia files and you're happy with the outcomeit, then stick with it. However, if after using EMC9, and you find you prefer to use some apps in 7.5 over those of V9, then by all means reinstall 7.5. Both versions can co-exist. Just note though that productions/projects created in V9 are not necessarily compatible with V7.5.
