In wishing to stop unnecessary HDD activity on WinXP SP2 and optimise PC performance, I noticed strange file access activity on my HDD every 5s and discovered it is being done by RoxMediaDB9.exe. The block below is a sample of one of the 5s accesses. Anybody know why this is necessary at such a rate? The block is repeated EXACTLY each time!

It's Media Manager accessing your drive to keep updated. If you want you can stop watching folders. You can do 1 of 2 things.
1)In the tool bar right click on the Media Manager icon and then choose "Stop watching folders"
2)Go to Start,Run and type in msconfig. When it comes up go to the startup tab and uncheck RoxWatchTray9.Reboot your computer and when it restarts check the box that says "don't show me this again" when the box pops up

My OS is Vista. I had similar huge disk activity and have disabled RoxWatchTray9 as advised. Disk no longer hogged, but on startup I now get thefollowing error messages. Any suggestions please?

I'm not at a Vista PC now but if I remember you need to uncheck Sonic SDK (or something like that) also.I can't remember if it's on the Startup tab or the Services tab.I got the same error and that solved it.
