Please help, if possible.  There is probablly a simple solution to this, but I don't know it.  I edited 2 video clips in Video Wave, then saved the to a Folder.  they saved as dsmd files.  They both appear when I open the foolder.  However, whenI attempt to place thm into a MyDVD project, they do not show up anywhere that I've looked. I hope this isn't redundant to many other postings. I'm a grandmother of 15, who's just learning. :)

Hi, r2sanford

dmsd files are MyDVD files, not VideoWave file, they have a "dmsm" extension.  My guess is you built your project starting in MyDVD, click edit in MyDVD which took you to Videowave, but when you saved the project after editing, it saved it as a MyDVD file (dmsd) not a Videowave project.

Try opening MyDVD, clicking File/Open Project, navigating to the dmsd file location, and then click Open.  Your project should open.

If that does not work, post back with the exact steps you did to create your project and maybe someone can spot the problem.

DSDM Files are EMC extensions. MYDVD does not support these files, as I have learned. I am looking for answers myself, and will let you know if I find some.

HUH??????????????  You are confusing the issue.  If you are talking about a MyDVD program that was strictly a Sonic program, pre-EMC 8, then you are correct, but this is an EMC forum, so you are incorrect if talking about EMC 8 or EMC 9.

Please take note again----DMSD ARE MYDVD file extensions !!! DMSM ARE VIDEOWAVE file extensions.

When you save a production in Videowave it has a file extension of DMSM

When you import a Videowave DMSM file into MyDVD and save it it has a file extension of DMSD

You hit it right on the nail! The respondent has MyDVD program that came along with his/her camcorder. :)

Unfortunately doing something else with the internet while you are download a large file is not good practice.  Sometimes there are glitches in the download.  Sorry but I don't remember what the file size should be.

When you go to install, make sure you are disconnected from the internet, have shut down your anti-virus and all other running programs (like anti-malware).
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
