Try clearing the Proxy files, and see if that makes a difference. In VideoWave, click on Tools/Options, and click on Clear, to the right of Proxy files.

Should I or Can I disable Media Manager and still edit videos and pictures ect.. How would I disable it?
Should I disable Drag to Disc? If so How..
In windows task Manager, I have 59 processes running. Should I end any of these processes? If so, which ones (please be specific)
I was just wondering if these things are bogging my PC down....??
Thanks for ANY suggestions...

PS By clearing proxy files as Bruce suggested, am I loosing any nessessary editing I did to the production. Also , how often should I clear proxy files.
When are proxy files added or created
Should I do anything I mentioned in my previous post.. Bruce must still be in bed, haven't heard from him yet today...lol

Not in bed. Was up early and gone to the dentist before 8:30.
As far as I know, the proxy files are never flushed until you do it manually.

The first thing that I would do is go to Start/Run, type in msconfig, click on the Startup tab on the next screen, uncheck the boxes for any startup items that you don't need, click on apply, then reboot, and put a check in the box in the window that pops up when you get back into Windows.
I have only 4 boxes checked in the msconfig Startup tab. If I do the Alt-Ctrl-Del excercize, I have 45 running processes. 45-50 is the norm for Windows XP. You could try disabling some of those processes, but I don't know which ones to mess with.
Some of them, you can change to manual or disabled in Services, under Control Panel/Administrative Tools.

I went to msconfig I have 26 items and all are CHECKED
I have NO CLUE which ones to uncheck...
If I UNcheck an item, and it screws something up, will that item still be in msconfig>startup so I can REcheck it ??

You can uncheck the first 8 and Microsoft Office, for sure. Uncheck them, click Apply, then OK, then reboot, and try the others, one by one, with reboots in between.

First I did a disc clean AND defrag on my PC. Then when I open EMC 9, I let everything load as Gary suggested until all hard drive activity stops (get a cup of coffee to sip on while editing : ) ). Then I open videowave and let that all load. When I select a panel to edit, I let that load. Every time I actually EDIT something, I give the hard drive a few x-tra seconds to act. Everything works GREAT when I proceed this way. This is really awsome. I still have a lot to learn, so you may hear from me again ! Thanks for all your input...
