Can anybody confirm if the final version of ie7 is safe to use with emc9 and emc7.5(my wife uses 7.5)

Works for me too. As mentioned, not with 7.5 and rumor is, there won't be a fix for 7.5 either.

The FINAL for IE 7 isn't out for regular users or customers yet Paul as far as I have heard. Some time near the end of January I think. Could be I'm wrong however. But when it does hit the shelves, Roxio has advised it will be compatible with EMC 9.
Forget EMC 7.5. You're out of luck as cdanteek advised.
