I have My DVD Premier 8. I add MPGs and AVI and MOVs to a project with no problems, but when I go to burn the DVD is runs a while, and then hangs in the middle of "Encoding" one of the videos. Never the same one, never the same time, just sometime during the process it just stops. When I look at Task Manager, it says it's "Not Responding" and I need to end the process.
Any ideas on what's happening? I did NOTHING except add the videos, I didn't add any effects, no sounds, nothing. Just add the videos and click "Burn."

The program doesn't like one of those files or is stopping because of the burner. The first thing I would do is to update the firmware for the burner. The second, judging by the product information, you do have VideoWave. Take each of the videos into VideoWave and then output them to a file. Use the film reel icon and select mpg2 for DVD best quality. If the program chokes on one of the videos, then you know which one and do some trouble shooting. The third thing I would do is burn to an iso (image file) once your DVD project is made using the mpg2 files. Once the DVD is encoded, you can use Disc Copier (if you have that) or Creator Classic (if you have that) to copy the file to the DVD blank .
PS, it is a big help if you add your computer specs to your signature. That way, you won't get the same question about the suitability of your computer with this program.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
