Anyone out there that can help? I've been through all the discussion forums regarding this error and I have tried the following - hot fix for similar error, update latest emc 8 version, tried using video wave vs my dvd, still keep getting this error.
I have a simple 90 photo slideshow with music.  I have a brand new hp media center computer(see specs below). Never had this problem on my old dell.  The burn process fails right at the point to encode the dvd menu.   Anyone out there that has a solution....

Mark

There are a few people who will read though all the information you provided but many more will just skip it and move on to a different post.  You might want to edit it to provide some detail but not the whole computer dump.

Now, which version of EMC 8 do you have - there were three.  Use Video Wave to output your slide show to a mpg2 file for DVD beat quality.  There is something in that slide show that the program doesn't like.   Note when the program chokes when doing the output.  Look in that time frame and see if there is something there.  Could be anything from a protected audio file, a music format that is not acceptable, bad transitions timing,  missing/moved image files, etc.

Also make sure you have the latest version of Microsoft's DirectX 9c and the newest drivers for your video card.  The new computer is new to you but parts may have been around for awhile.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

PC  Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Velocity Micro ProMagix ©HD 60; evga x58 motherboard, Intel i7 @2.93, 12G RAM, EVGA Nvidia 560TI superclocked video card, SoundBlaster X-Fi Xtreme audio card, Buffalo external blu-ray burner; Creator 2012. PhotoShow 6, VHS to DVD 3Plus.

Laptop - Windows 7 Home
Dell XPS 1645, Intel I7 1,6G with overdrive ,4G RAM, 1 GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730, Sound Blaster X-Fi MB Panzer, 500G hard drive.

Apple =OSX 10.5

Thanks for the advice.  I used video wave and created a mpg2 file for the slideshow.  I then added that file to mydvd and the encoding worked fine?  strange that it is fine with videowave but does not work when using mydvd.

Anyhow thanks again for the advice.
