I have just installled EMC 9 for the first time having used emc 7 & 8 in the past, both installations now removed. My default player for playing commercial DVD's was always Sonic.
Now whenever I try to play a DVD I get a told to install Sonic Cineplayer Decoder Pack - this occurs for bothWindows Media Player and the Roxio player(s). I am asked to insert the EMC installation disc, but when the search begins I get an error saying that d:\ or e:\2239610.msi cannot be found. After hitting cancel several times the DVD eventually plays in WMP.
Does anyone have an idea as to why this is happeining and how to fix it?

There are several posts on this topic as there are many answers. To do a search, use the search function near the top of the board. Make sure you select V9 to search. I needed to reinstall the program to fix it; other have done it a different way. Did you ever get the request to activate the mpg2 codecs.

Thanks for the quick reply, I will try the full uninstall procedure as advised and report back.
No I did not get a request to activate the mpg2 codecs.

OK I did the full unistall, most tof the registry changes etc. rebooted and got no error messages or searches for Sonic Cineplayer Decoder. Initially I got no sound in WMP 11 or in Cineplayer but after a couple or reboots it seems to have worked.
Thanks to all for their help
