Good morning,
Like many on this forum, I have a new Dell computer (sigh) and I bought Media creator 9 , sadly neither work very well together, I have been unable to get past the render stage on videowave and, for some reason the program inserts black , blank pages at the beginning of each new file...

Interestingly I have also had an issue with microsoft, whereby my windows operating system locks up with a strange program running (ThorConnWndClass) so far neither Microsoft nor Dell have managed to fix this..

I have no idea if they are related..what I do know is that I took the step of loading the program onto my laptop a Toshiba and it all works fine.... so far.

It seems to me that for some reason , there is an issue between the Dell systems and the Media creator 9 .. perhaps the good folks at Roxio would like to offer a solution... and please dont suggest that we reinstall... after 15 hours online with Microsoft and Dell I for one am thinking this is a lemon machine !! but then you may feel differently.

My feeling is that a patch is required to ah fix this, as I'm sure it will be, for Roxio to repair the good will they are without doubt in danger of losing from this unfortunate situation..

Today I am going to attempt to record some old albums..the real reason for buying the program...

Sub note : I was digging in my garden the other day when I came across a 12 inch black plastic disc, I put the disc to my ear, but I couldn't hear anything !!!!!

I am not sure that Roxio fixes computers.  They are in the software business, so I don't think they will offer a patch to fix a lemon Dell.  :)    :D  :D

I was rather hoping they would come up with a solution to enable there software to be more compatable with the machine..

I own lots of Dell's and have no problems.  But I do reformat all new system drives to remove the crap they put on them and start over.  Perhaps some pre-installed software is causing a conflict.

You said you were having other problems with your computer.  It appears you need to take care of those issues, before you try running higher powered software.

Interestingly I have also had an issue with microsoft, whereby my windows operating system locks up with a strange program running (ThorConnWndClass) so far neither Microsoft nor Dell have managed to fix this..

Good morning
Well, the other issue is a well documented and non solved ThorConnWndClass item that freezes Outlook after about 20 mins.. its not a virus its a software issue within the operating system.

As to media creator.. it works fine on Toshiba laptop... completely useless on the new Dell machine, logic dictates that it is wiser to spend time learning the program than wasting my time with Dell, who have sadly become a very moderate company these days...
Incidently the toshiba doesnt suffer from thorConnWndClass either...

It sounds like the Toshiba is a good machine.  I don't understand that ThorConnWndClass problem with the Dell.  I have not heard of that, before.
