I can't help wondering why everyone seems so anxious to get the 8.05 update. Some are complaining because the update for the downloaded version hasn't been made available. Perhaps they are the lucky ones since others with the boxed version have posted that after they applied the update a variety of problems developed that weren't there before, and that they regret updating. Still others have strongly recommended not to install the update. I have not seen any information about what the update was is supposed to fix or improve. Without this information, if your copy of EMC8 has been working satisfactorily, why would anyone want to update? This "must update" impulse puzzles me. I certainly update programs when the update promises to fix a specific problem that I have or to provide additional capabilities, but in the Roxio8.05 case, I don't see it.
