Hello:

I bought the Easy Media Creator 9 from BestBuy.
It is missing the CD-Key (on the jacket or sleeve).
However, I got the answer from your Ask-Roxanne
questions. The CD is on the CD itself on the side
without the label near the center.
It says: (I have changed some of the numbers
so it isn't my real license):
182432-00EU  MADE IN THE USA  163345-00EU ModusLink  01
I am not sure how this fits in the installation:

Enter the CD key located ...
__ _____ _____ _____
2    5        5        5

Thanks:

Hi Michael, if you dont see a tag or lable that has a searies of numbers and letters like the setting below
XX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

Then you need to contact bestbuy and ask for them to provide one or return the product as no one here can assist you on this , as even Roxio will say to to return it or direct your request to them.

sorry to give you bad news

Hello:

  Thanks for the response.
I just need to know though, how do I map the:
182432-00EU MADE IN THE USA 163345-00EU ModusLink 01
  onto:
XX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
Where does each number in the first set map to
those in the second. For example:
18-24320-01644-45001
  Is that supposed to work?

Thanks in advance:
Michael Yanowitz

Michael, I have a suspicion that you never received the CD key at all and as Neil said, you will have to return this to Bestbuy. The code you give has no relation at all to any CD key and is probably a warehousing or stock code.

If I remember right, this isn't the first time a post has appeared here re missing keys - and Bestbuy has cropped up before

If indeed it is a genuine key then it shouldn't be a problem. When it asks for the key just start typing and the boxes should fill and skip to the next automatically so that all the letters and numbers will just fit in.

The CD "Key" for installing EMC 9 would not be on the program CD to begin with. So I'm not sure what "ASK-ROXANNE" was describing as far as the key code. I suggest taking the program back to Best Buy and exchanging it for another EMC 9 that has the key code on the CD package or somewhere else, but definitely NOT on the CD itself.
