OK. this is driving me nuts. trying to get the CD text values to write on the CD when burning an audio CD.
the CD text values will write fine when making an mp3 CD, but not a audio CD. Even though the box "CD text" is checked...still no joy. I have tried making an audio Cd from the Music disc creator window and from the audio CD window in EMC9. Same results...no CD text. Source files on the HD are all mp3. I gave up Nero Ultra for this very problem and was one fo the main reasons I bought EMC9.

Hope somone can help save my sanity. thanks!!!

If you checked 'CD TEXT', then it is indeed being written. What software or hardware are you using to check the audio CD?
WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER - any version - does NOT READ CD TEXT!!!!!!!

Most commercial audio CD do not have CD text, but Sony audio CDs do now. WMP gets the album info from CDDB thru the net. If you were not connected to the net, Windows Media Player would not show any info at all except track numbers.

The easiest way to check your disc:
insert the disc into drive
launch Label Creator
Select CD back cover and then use the smart object fill
This actually reads CD TEXT directly from the disc.

ggrussell,

Sorry for the delayed response, I was travelling for a few days. I have to say your info put me on the right path. to answer your questions...i was taking the freshly burned Cd out of my PC and checking it in my laptop with...you guessed it WMP9. I was also checking them in my new dual CD player, a dual drive unit made for DJ's, it does read the text for the mp3, so naturally I thought it would read the cd text for the audio CD's. Not. Brand new unit too. Once again RTFM applies (read the Manual), in this case the manual for the DJ CD player....would have saved me throwing away lots of coasters that really weren't coasters. thanks for taking the time to address my newbie question.

Glad you figured that out. Interesting the dual drive DJ unit read MP3 playlists. We've seen this same problem with CD players in cars where the users thought it would read CD text.

By far the easiest way to check your work on anything is by inserting it into your recent DVD Player next to your TV :)
Lets see:

Dell 4550, 2.4 Proc, 1GB RAM, Plextor 750-a RAM-Drive, 1-55GB & 1-250 GB Slave HDD's, Samsung ROM-Drive

Santa Cruz-Audio, ATI X800-Pro Video with Road-Runner and all drivers are current Driver Magician see's to it.

Nope... not a good idea. We have 3 different brands of DVD players and none of them read CD TEXT. Would be nice if they did though.
