Not sure why this is happening but I have burned several DVD's using EMC8 and the original video was captured through a Cannon DV Camera via Firewire connection.  The video is furst captured using the Capture feature, then selecting the Cannon DV Device and using the AVI option under quality.  Each @40 minute video is about 2.2GB when done.  When the project is complete I burn it to a DVD and sure enough it works fine on a cheap $30 polaroid dvd player but not on some of the 2 year old dvd expensive BOSE players..  I create DVDs for the parents in my sons Hockey team and right now the success rate of the DVD working on someones DVD player is about 50%..  I'm wondering if the DVD is being burned in some format that older DVD players do not recognize? Is there anything I can do different to make this work accross the board for old and new DVD players?

Thanks
Diano

Diano,

Your media is questionable at best. This website gives it a 50 success rate! Go here and read 3rd class media. Your Manufacturer ID INFOME R30 is listed there.
http://www.digitalfa...ia/dvdmedia.htm

I still need the drive and firmware info! The drive button in DVDInfo Pro,
Drive button, then right side drive information!

Diano,

Since you showed me the firmware is up-to-date! My guess it's all
a media issue. This link has been updated.
