HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GMA-4020B driver update

I saw a post for this same issue back in October 2006 but could not find the reply.  I also have a Gateway and need to update the firmware in order to use DVD+R disks.  Unable to find this updated driver.

I'm not positive but I think you can find what you want here
You really should check with Gateway.

The link you posted is to an .exe and all the files (readme included) are in chinese.  You sure?

I have never seen a burner firmware update, to make a -R burner a +R burner!

If someone knows of such a update please correct me.

LisaH, go to Gateway and put your serial # in Gateways system checker.
Then look for a firmware update for your drive.

I said I wasn't positive but the link was posted twice in a firmware forum with both replying it worked for them.  Since it's in another language (thought it was Korean) you are taking your chances.

Paul, it's kind a like Dell. You enter the service # or serial # and it lists all your pc updates. I would go this way for the burner because it's probably a Gateway OEM!
